Happy Halloween!
D.W.Q.M.: Ian: "Where's your spirit of adventure, hm?" the First Doctor: "It died a slow and painful death when those bats came out of the rafters."
Happy Halloween, everybody!
2003 Jack-o-Lanterns:
(I really need to upload our pumpkins from 2004& 2005!)
No Jack-o-Lanterns this year-neither Perseph nor I had enough time to make one. It seems as though October just started, and now it's Halloween! Perhaps next October won't be as crazy. ;) We are planning on dressing up and giving out candy to the kiddies-there's going to be a bunch of us tonight. It'll be fun!
Geeky Pumpkins: Dalek-o-Lantern
Cylon-o-Lantern (old school Cylon)
Be sure to check them out in action, too!
To my neices Tia and Boo-hope you had fun in your Halloween parade at school! Alicat-you better take pictures!! ;)
Have a safe Halloween!

This week in Who
D.W.Q.M.: Sgt. Benton: "What are we going to do now?" the Second Doctor: "Keep it confused, feed it with useless information. I wonder if I have a television set handy?"
(author's note: this post can also be found at the Idiot's Lantern.)
Series 2 (season 28) Fridays, 8pm EDT on the SciFi Channel
Current episode: 5. Rise of the Cybermen, part 1
Previous episodes: 4. The Girl in the Fireplace 3. School Reunion 2. Tooth and Claw 1. New Earth (9:30pm EDT) The Christmas Invasion (8:00pm EDT)
Doctor Who on BBC7: Check out BBC7's Listen Again page to hear the 8th Doctor audios from Big Finish. Current epsiodes are available for one week after it originally airs. This week: Sunday, October 29th: Stones of Venice, part 2
Previous: Sunday, October 22nd: Stones of Venice, part 1
Torchwood Sundays, 9pm, GMT on BBC3
Current episode: 3. Ghost Machine
Previous episodes: 2. Day One 1. Everything Changes
Attention! If you've been planning on catching (or rewatching) the next episode of Doctor Who in it's second time slot-note that SciFi has changed the time of it's repeat to 10pm EDT. Last week it was changed from 12am to 11pm-I found out 10 minutes to 12. Blah!
SciFi has been featuring clips from the season 2 dvd extras in their video section Better catch them while you can! Many are available for a limited time only.
Fun stuff: The Italian Job, Doctor Who style. Click on it-you know you want to! ;)
Torchwood Although the BBC's official site is somewhat limited to non-UK viewers, http://www.torchwood.org.uk/ is a pretty cool site. You'll need Flash, and probably some patience (it took a while for it to load on my computer at work). Have fun navigating through it! There's some interesting stuff hidden in there.
I've seen quite a few different reactions for the new show-some people love it, some people hate it. In any case, the Beeb is quite pleased with it's performance after only two episodes.
From what I understand, it's probably a good idea to see the entire second series of Doctor Who before starting into Torchwood, as there are many references to Who in the new show.
More from the SyFy Portal: Did Capt. Jack Cuss?
TAFN, happy Who watching!!!

Current episode: Fridays, 8pm EDT on the SciFi Channel 4. The Girl in the Fireplace

Doctor Who on BBC7: Check out BBC7's Listen Again page to hear the 8th Doctor audios from Big Finish. Current epsiodes are available for one week after it originally airs. This week: Sunday, October 22nd: Stones of Venice, part 1
Torchwood starts this Sunday, 9pm, GMT on BBC3. The episode guide is scheduled to be updated on the 23rd. Although there are links to the videos, I'm not sure if we have access to them. Last week there was a notice on the pages that due to copyright issues, they wouldn't be accessible to those of us outside the UK. I tried to watch a few, but it just kept trying to connect-dunno if that's just my connection, or the BBC. Feel free to try, and let me know if you're sucessful!
My goal for these weekly updates is to give you more than just links, but sometimes, (like today!) I won't have enough time to talk much about the articles I link to. Hope you don't mind. :)
Audio books for the latest 10th Doctor Novels (Including Anthony Head!)
Billie's new book (I hear it's geared more towards adults)
Win a part in Doctor Who! (sorry guys, not only do you have to be under 14, but this is only open for residents of the UK.) Still, it's gonna be awesome for one lucky kid!
National Television Awards Doctor Who's been nominated again for most popular show, best actress and best actor. Yay!
TAFN. Happy Who watching!

Doctor Who on BBC7: Check out BBC7's Listen Again page to hear the 8th Doctor audios from Big Finish. Current epsiodes are available for one week after it originally airs. This week: Sunday, October 15th: Swords of Orion, part 4
Previous: Sunday, October 8th: Swords of Orion, part 3 Sunday, October 1st: Swords of Orion, part 2 Sunday, September 24th: Swords of Orion, part 1
The last part of Swords of Orion airs this coming Sunday. Another 8th Doctor story will start the following Sunday. I don't remember the order they were going to air, but it would be cool if they did Invaders from Mars, with Halloween coming and all. ;)
We've all heard the sad news-Outpost Gallifrey's news section is coming to an end. The forums and Gallifrey One's convention will still continue, and as Daniel pointed out-there is still alot of good information for both the classic series and the news series on the site. Michael, over at the Torchwood Institute also mentioned that it was a great source for international Doctor Who news-as most sites focus on just one country. It will be missed!
The BBC has finally lauched it's Torchwood site. It looks to be pretty cool-unfortunately, it seems several features will only be available to the UK. Still, I think there will be alot of other information we can access about the series on the site(from what I can tell, we won't be able to access any special videoes). The episode guide is scheduled to be updated on the 19th of October-other sections on the 22nd.
Yes! Torchwood is scheduled to hit BBC airwaves a week from Sunday! It looks like it's going to be really good-and I hope someone on this side of the pond picks it up. :) Trailers have been circulating on YouTube-I think there have been 3 trailers (not including the teaser), but I've only been able to find 2: Trailer 1 Trailer 2
TAFN-it's been a crazy week for me at home and here at work (10th anniversary library celebration-let me tell you-6 adults trying to untangle tons of ballons is a site to behold. LOL!)
Happy Who watching! Oh, and because it's on tonight-you know I gotta say it: Yay, Sarah Jane!! ;)

First snow
D.W.Q.M.: Barbara: "Perhaps it's frozen." the First Doctor: "No, impossible... not in this temperature. Besides, it's too warm."
It's snowing!!! It's so odd-just a few flurries here and there, then some sun, then a big burst of flurries. Rinse, repeat. Shar and I took a walk outside-boy, is it brisk! The weatherbug cannot be right-it says it's 40 degrees out! ;)
At one point, it looked like a snow shower, instead of flurries-and with the sun shining, it looked pretty cool. It's like we're in a snowglobe that someone shook, and now the snows all settled. It isn't sticking to the ground, but it stuck to my glove. (I'm glad I took the time to get a warmer jacket out this morning!)
Is this the lake effect we are supposed to be getting? It came alot earlier than predicted!
SNOW!!! Woo!

Previous: Sunday, October 1st: Swords of Orion, part 2 Sunday, September 24th: Swords of Orion, part 1
Check out the video section on SciFi's Doctor Who website-they have about a 50 second preview of some outtake extras from the season 2 dvd release in January. The cyberman scene alone makes it worth the while. I was laughing so hard a coworker of mine came up to me and joked, 'Be quiet!! You're not supposed to be having that much fun at work!' LOL.
There is a review for the UK dvd release of The Sontaran Experiment on the Doctor Who website-plus a few preview clips of some of the extras (although the preview of the commentary link wasn't working when I tried it.) I know I keep saying it, but I'll say it again-I hope the extras are the same for the North American dvd release!!! :)
DoctorWho.TV has partial episode guide for season 3. Only one title (the Runaway Bride, a couple of plots, and the writers and directors for some of the episodes.
Torchwood.TV has a link and some thoughts about a BBC press release concerning Torchwood. (Just for fun-if you do a quick stroll up from the press release, you'll see that Peter Davidson is going to be starring in a new comedy series.)
Speaking of Doctors in non-Who programming, starting Sunday, October 8th, Casanova, starring David Tennant, will be on Masterpiece Theater.
TAFN, happy Who watching!!

OMG. Am I dreaming? Am I dreaming?!?!?
