Romana's Virtual Front Porch

Welcome, Friends!! If you have the time, why don't you come on up and sit a spell. :) As always, tack för besöket!! (Thanks for visiting!!)

July is just around the corner! Time for cookouts, family, friends, and fireworks!!

It seems as though spring was non-existent here in Cleveland-one minute it was cold, the next, extremely warm. To prove that we did have a few nice days, I thought I'd share a few pics that I took when my friend Sharon and I went to the Botanical Gardens back in May:

Ahh, the lovely water fountain at the entrance to the Botanical Gardens.

The first major display we came across outdoors. With all the people who were walking around during lunch, I'm suprised that only one person got in the shot (and only partially, to boot!)

Sharon and I brave the stairs and travel further into the gardens. It's an amazing walk-it's hard to believe that you are in the middle of a city while walking through the gardens-check out all the green foilage!

The Children's Garden! This place was so cool-I mean-just look at the entrance! :) Besides the fountain with the astrological and astronomical symbols, there were small vegetable gardens that the children planted-it's like a learning garden-everything is child size and very cute. Sharon can't wait to take her boys when they are a little older. On another lunchtime walk during a particularly warm day, Sharon and I saw the kiddies playing in the water fountain. Lucky kids!

This was taken along the pathway towards the end of the gardens-if you can see it through the blinding glare, check out the Peter B. Lewis building by architect Frank Gehry. I wonder if he used the same methods to design this building as he did for the Springfield Concert Hall in the Simpsons. ;) LOL. j/k....I think...

Everyone have a safe and happy summer!!
