Romana's Virtual Front Porch

Welcome to my virtual front porch. I love to decorate. Since I do not have a front porch or a yard of my own to decorate I decided to create this virtual front porch. :) The following photos were created with the help of Persephone and her wonderful digital camera, and unless otherwise stated, reflect the present time. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with the changing seasons/holidays. ;) Enjoy!

Happy Holidays, everyone!!!!

Krismutt gets a little baking instruction from the Doughboy at Persephone and Romana's first annual holiday baking party.

"I didn't do it!!!"

This is one of the many Nativity scenes my mother has crocheted over the years. The king on the right is special because the yellow yarn was left over from a sweater my mom made for me when I was a baby.

The figures could either be hung on a tree, displayed as in the previous photo, or used as finger puppets, as demonstrated by Jerm in this photo taken back in 1999.

"...with a tail as big as a kite..." The 2nd annual garland star on my ceiling.

My first Christmas village, 1999. I've always wanted a lighted Christmas village, so my mom got me started with these three buildings.

An arial view of my village.

My village in 2003. I decided to add 1 new building to my village every year, plus several accessories (people, trees, etc.) I love the Victorian/Turn-of-the-Century style villages. :)

Close up pic of village. I made the lake in the photo myself so I could adjust the size if neceessary. It has changed 3 times over the years, and here it reflects the use of a foot bridge.

Second close up of the village.

Third close up. The firehouse is the latest addition to my village.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
